Dermatological Health & Photoprotection

Skin Care & Sun Protection Education

Evidence-based fundamentals of epidermal barrier repair, broad-spectrum UVA/UVB photoprotection, and the ABCDE mole evaluation guide.

1

Gentle Cleansing

Use a mild, non-foaming pH-balanced cleanser (pH 5.0–5.5). Avoid harsh physical walnut scrubs or high-alkaline soaps that strip natural sebum and disrupt the acid mantle.

2

Barrier Moisturizing

Formulas containing ceramides, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and squalane reinforce the stratum corneum lipid bilayer, preventing transepidermal water loss (TEWL).

3

Broad-Spectrum SPF

Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher (PA+++) daily. UVA rays penetrate cloud cover and window glass, driving premature photo-aging and DNA mutations.

The ABCDE Mole & Skin Lesion Screening Guide

Perform a monthly self-check of your moles. Consult a dermatologist promptly if you observe any of the following characteristics:

A - Asymmetry

One half of the mole does not match the other half.

B - Border

Edges are irregular, ragged, notched, or blurred.

C - Color

Uneven shades of brown, black, red, white, or blue.

D - Diameter

Larger than 6 millimeters (approx size of pencil eraser).

E - Evolving

Changing size, shape, color, or newly itching or bleeding.

Important Clinical Boundaries

VitalCare AI provides educational wellness guidance and does not diagnose skin malignancies, psoriasis, or severe cystic acne. Do not attempt hazardous DIY chemical peels, unregulated mole-removal acids, or unverified bleaching creams. Consult a board-certified dermatologist for personalized assessment.
